NO LIMITS TO YOUR CREATIVITY’ 2023 BALANCE SHEET
Javier Euba, co-founder and Creative Director of Moruba.
‘The challenge will always be to have a good brief’.
Since its foundation in 2008, Moruba has been one of the graphic design studios of reference when it comes to wine labels. Its co-founder and Creative Director, Javier Euba, is already one of the regular faces at the ‘No Limits to Your Creativity’ meetings, and during the last edition he gave us a few minutes to give us his vision of the event and what it brings to design professionals.
What does the event ‘Sin Límites a tu Creatividad de grupo Argraf’ give you on a creative and professional level?
The good thing that Argraf has when it organises ‘No Limits’ is the contact with people in the sector, with other designers, sharing experiences, seeing new technologies, what they bring, sponsors… It is an important event.
After these two days of connecting with other professionals, what do you think is the next big challenge in label design?
Well, I think the challenge is always the same: to solve the client’s problem with a good brief and good information. That problem will always be the same, no matter how technology changes or how many years go by.
What do you think has been the best moment of this 5th edition of ‘No Limits to your Creativity’?
The team building has been an important challenge, it has been very interesting to share a collaborative experience with people you have never worked with before.
Sum up the ‘No Limits to your Creativity’ event in three words’.
I’ll give you four: ‘More needs to be done’.
How do you imagine the labels of the future?
Well done! I think that many times the intangible future that we refer to in an abstract way leads us perhaps to more aesthetic terms or more technological terms, but I think that many times these kinds of questions prevent us from thinking, reflecting and doing things well. Whatever happens, however long it takes, whatever technology we have, whatever resources we have, that’s the point.
How can sharing your experience with professionals in the label printing industry enhance your work?
For those of us who work in the wine sector and who are labelling for many wineries, the fact of continually knowing what technologies, papers, materials we can implement and use… Obviously it is essential to be aware of these things.
