NO LIMITS TO YOUR CREATIVITY” 2023 BALANCE SHEET
SERGIO AJA, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF CALCCO
“SUSTAINABILITY LABELLING IS THE NEXT BIG CHALLENGE”
During the 5th edition of the event ‘Sin Límites a tu Creatividad’ organised by Grupo Argraf we had the opportunity to talk to Sergio Aja, graphic designer specialised in wine packaging and manager of the visual communication agency Calcco.
Sergio has been in contact with the world of label printing since his childhood, and knows very well the importance of being up to date in order to keep innovating in the art of ‘dressing’ wine bottles in the best possible way. This was the vision he shared with us about his experience in ‘Sin Límites a tu Ceatividad’ and how he sees the future of packaging and labelling.
What does the event ‘Sin Límites a tu Creatividad de grupo Argraf’ give you on a creative and professional level?
Coming to this event organised by Argraf means, apart from enjoying a fun and festive day, being able to communicate with people from my environment, from my sector. At the same time, I also got to know new concerns of the partners who create products for the packaging world.
After these two days of connecting with other professionals, what do you think is the next big challenge in label design?
After having seen and listened to the people who have passed through here, it seems that the world of sustainability is a strong point to take into account and in which we designers have an important part to play.
What do you think has been the best moment of this 5th edition of ‘No Limits to your Creativity’?
I love the camaraderie and the enjoyment that has been experienced so far.
Sum up the event ‘No Limits to your Creativity’ in three words’.
Fun, learning and fellowship.
How do you imagine the labels of the future?
I still think that labels will continue to play an important role in the future. They will advance in printing methodologies and media, but I think we have labels for many years to come.
How can sharing your experience with professionals in the label printing industry enhance your work?
Communicating with people in the sector is interesting to be able to receive information, feedback and ways of working that, if we were alone in our bubble, we wouldn’t learn or take into account.
