Sponsored by Grupo Argraf since its inception in 2018, the EtiquetaNews Awards is considered the most relevant competition in Europe in its category due to its high levels of participation.
Àlex Arán, student of the online design school, LABASAD School of Art&Design, has won the fifth edition of EtiquetaNews Awards with his design of the white wine label “Llum”. This competition, sponsored by Grupo Argraf since its first edition in 2018, is considered the most relevant in Europe in its category due to its high levels of participation, which in its five editions have totalled almost 2,000 students submitted.
By sponsoring this competition, we want to show our interest in discovering and promoting new talents. We also want to motivate the best graphic design students to orientate their professional careers towards the label and packaging industry.
This year’s winning design is a label inspired by “the light that accompanies us on those nights of reflection with a glass of wine and which proposes a poetic connection with the product”, explained its author.
Antonio Martínez, from the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Murcia, won second prize thanks to his work with his label “Capítulo 12”, while the third prize went to Ana Isabel Ordóñez, from EASDA Alicante, and her label “Luna de cosecha”.
LABASAD School of Art&Design, winner of the competition
This year, LABASAD School of Art&Design has been the great winner of the competition, winning three of the five main prizes of the competition: Prize for the Best Label Design Training Centre in Spain; Prize for the Best Teacher in Label Design, which went to Beatriz Suárez and the aforementioned first prize to her student Àlex Arán.
The jury that chose this year’s winners was made up of leading experts from the world of professional design.
At the Awards Gala, which was once again held in a virtual format on 3 May, the great possibilities for these students in a world that is increasingly in need of good designs were highlighted.
